WHY  I  WANT TO LIVE!

JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten son to die for us that we might have eternal life.

What horrible things have you had happen to you?
A loved one died, you didn’t get the promotion you were in line to get, you lost your job, you feel lonely, depressed, rejected, misunderstood, nothing works out right, your children are ‘messing up’, and you did everything for them, or you failed a test, you found out that guy/gal was just using you, when you really cared for them, maybe you can’t stop drinking or using drugs or eating too much, you have cancer and………….

If you are in one of the situations above or just feeling "down", may I suggest to you what maybe wrong, and how to change it?

First of all, You may be feeling hopeless. Hopelessness is a state of mind, it is not a reality. It is not something concrete, which you can touch and feel with your hand. It is part of the unconscious and different things cause hopelessness for different people due to their early childhood experiences, including, developed thinking patterns. Therefore, the sensation of hopelessness can be changed, if you want to!

When we become a new person in Christ, we can chose whether or not to place our hope in God. It is called "Free Will". When my hope is in God, I get through the rough times, and my good times are so joyous, that they are indescribable.

How does this work? It comes from FAITH in JESUS CHRIST, as MY SAVIOR. You see I have faith that the things above and other depressing situations were wiped out when Christ died on the cross, as an innocent man, taking on mankind’s sins. I trust His Word and believe He is the source of all hope, all good and a contented future.

I would like to share with you an example from my life. I was feeling a need to learn more about the Bible, but I didn’t hear God tell me to go to any of the programs, which I looked into that were within an hour of my home. Space does not permit me to go into all the details; however, it became very clear to me that He wanted me to attend a program in Tulsa. So, I quit my job, left my house behind with its mortgage continuing, took the little money I had, and traveled 1300miles. Now, I trusted God enough to do all of this during the time span of three weeks because I kept receiving confirmation from God that this was what He wanted me to do. This certainly sounds like a faithful, obedient servant; which I was. And yet, I had to cope with all types of negative thoughts coming against me, feeding messages to my unconsciousness telling me I had no future-- I would leave school, only to find that I would not be able to get a job, and lose everything I had.

I had a music tape I played often in the car which sings different Bible passages, one song on it was Jer29:11... One of the Tulsa Bible classes had a work sheet where I had to fill in the blanks to several missing words in this very Bible passage. I was certain I could easily answer this, and began. " For I know the _______(plans) I have for you, declares the Lord, ______(plans) to prosper you and not harm you, plans to give you______ and a ________." Suddenly, I couldn’t recall the last two omitted words. This was upsetting. Do you know what those two words are?( Hope and Future). HE HAS PLANS TO GIVE ME HOPE AND A FUTURE. I knew then that satan had blocked me from hearing those words. I haven’t forgotten those words since and will not, for they are etched in my heart---they are what I believe and provide me with courage each day.

I am thankful God did not ask of me the same that he did of Abraham and Sarah or Noah.

How would you handle being either Abraham or Sarah? You were into your 90’s and still waiting to have a child of your own? God told you, you would. Would you still believe? Read Gen15:1-6. …..Abram believed the Lord…..Look at Romans 4:18.. Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed. Read Hebrews 11:11. " By FAITH Abraham, even though he was past age-and Sarah herself was barren- was enabled to become a father because he considered Him ( God )faithful, who had made the promise." The impossible happened because Abraham believed God’s Word to Him; his hope became faith.

Lets look at Noah. How would you or I handle being told to build a huge boat in our yard, while all the neighbors laughed ? How many years would you or I continue on this project, without wearing down and deciding God must be mistaken? But Noah continued, because he had hope and faith in God, when no one else did. We know what happened in the end. ( Begin your reading with Genesis 5:6 )

Will You take the time to understand God’s Word and His Will? How much happiness do you think Abraham and Sarah had after the birth of their long awaited son? Much more joy than You have ever experienced, unless You too, believe and have faith in Your Heavenly Father.

Join me in prayer!

Father God , the source of all wisdom and knowledge, of which I know only a little, give me a love for the life You have given me, through the death and resurrection of Jesus. Once again, let me feel Your love, so I will seek after knowledge of Your Word and Your Will in my life. Recall to me all the blessings I take for granted each day and now (your name..).I pray in thanksgiving of Christ’s Resurrection, and in His Name.

If you are currently, experiencing suicidal feelings, you must get help, now! Call a psychiatrist, a mental health worker at a crisis center or your insurance company for an immediate referral.
Once you no longer have these feelings, seek a counselor, who understands God’s love, and accepts Christ as their Savior. Begin attending a Church, which preaches the Bible and Christ’s redemption.
Begin reading the Bible and begin praying for understanding of what you are reading. Remember Abraham, Sarah and Noah, and then, You must begin to accept and believe that God has plans for YOU!-- to prosper and have a blessed future. Don't  give up; keep praying and seeking.
